Ingredients

  • Chana dal - 1 cup
  • Jaggery - 1 & 1/4 cup
  • Cardamom powder -1 tsp
  • Ghee -3 tbsp
  • Coconut - 1/4 cup
  • Water 4 cups

For dough

  • MAida flour /wheat– 1.5 cups
  • Ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oi l – 1 tbsp
  • Water as needed

Method

  • WAsh and pressure cook chana dal for 5 whistle
  • Drain water, mash or finely grind
  • Heat 2 tbsp ghee add chana dal mixture, coconut, jaggery ,cardamom, ghee cook till thic
  • Divide the mixture into equal size balls
  • In a bowl add maida flour, ghee, turmeric salt & pour oil mix well.
  • Then add water Knead it and make soft dough. Cover it & leave it for 15 min.
  • Divide the dough into equal size balls. Then roll out into thick chapatti or puri.
  • Stuff each thick chapatti with lemon size portion of chana dal mixture & shape into a ball again.
  • Sprinkle flour then roll out each ball in to 6 to 7 inch circle shape paratha.
  • Heat iron dosa tawa then place stuffed paratha on it & add 1 tsp ghee on it.
  • Turnover and cook another side & add 1 tsp of butter on it.
  • Cook till both sides are golden brown & well cooked.
  • Then cut off heat serve hot with ghee
